Dogs are truly man’s most loyal and loving pets. These affectionate animals have become man’s silent best friend, always ready to offer love and protection. In return, humans would ensure that the pet is well cared for. Keeping a dog can hurt the budget but pet owners are always ready to spend money for the health and the comfort of the pet. Humans and dogs have grown so close but it would still be impossible for us to know what the dog feels and thinks. The dog’s inability to speak will always be the concern of pet parents especially if the pet is noticed to be under the weather.

The bond dogs form with the human family is legendary. This is very apparent by the inclination of the master and pet to be always together. It is really quite amusing to see pet parents that can’t seem to take the eyes off the pet. Pet owners that get so attached to the pet will watch it even when sleeping. A dog owner would worry if the sleeping dog is seen shaking. Seizures are common in dogs thus an owner would worry that the pet is fitting.

A dog that shakes while sleeping may have an underlying health concern. The shaking can be caused by discomfort. Dogs that sleep outside the home would shake if the weather has gone cold. Puppies may crawl away from the mother and as they don’t have the mother’s warmth, they will shake in their sleep.

Perfectly healthy dogs that shake while sleeping may simply be having a dream. We know how great sleepers dogs are. A dog would dream if it is already in the rapid eye movement stage of sleep. Just like in humans, a dog that dream is experiencing again what has happened when it was awake.

Humans would talk in their sleep, others would sleep walk. Dogs too would manifest similar movements when they dream. A dog will shake if it is dreaming of giant rabbits. Abused dogs are noticed to have more shaking incidents as it is believed that the dog will relieve the traumatic experience while sleeping. Dogs would have happy dreams because these are happy animals but nightmares that makes the dog shake cannot be avoided. Dogs usually snap out of the bad dream but it wouldn’t hurt if you let the pet know that you are there.
