There are many people with different opinions who come together to work in one place. This will therefore means that a conflict may arise in terms of making decisions. The differences are normal and solutions have to be sought. Here is a method of resolving conflict in the workplace.
It is important to be aware that all working environment have to face them. As soon as everyone knows that this is inevitable then they can at least approach all differences with an aim to resolve them. In addition to that everyone ought to know that through all that learning is achieved and they need to get the best out of it.
Differences must be sorted out as soon as they occur. That way they people will not pretend that it did not happen and act like everything has been ironed out. If this approach of pretending it is ok is taken the problem will come up in the future and blow out of proportion.
As for all workers they need to be encouraged to face issues head on. This does not mean that all courtesy should be thrown to the dogs. All forms of ethics should be observed when approaching the issue. The one being addressed must also respond observing ethics. At least the issue has to be put on the table.
Every time an issue is brought up try to arrive at a solution. Avoid throwing accusations around. The main aim is to resolve the conflict and the point has to be arrived at immediately. Give credit where it is due and apologize where necessary.
There are other approaches such as mediation which can be used in resolving conflict in the workplace. This involves the use of a mutual third party who will not be biased. When all else has failed this may be the best approach. If it does not work out too then the towel may be thrown in. After all that at least one may be at peace knowing that they tried.
